Weather Data Availability by API Plan

This guide explains the weather data availability across different subscription plans offered by OpenWeatherMap and WeatherAPI. It helps you understand which data points and features are included in each tier, so you can confidently choose the right plan and ensure it supports the required blocks and functionality for your weather interface.

OpenWeather API Plan:

OpenWeather uses a tiered pricing model. For most dynamic and data-rich interfaces, the One Call API 3.0 is the recommended pay-as-you-go option, as it provides access to the widest range of visual weather data points with a low entry cost.

* OpenWeather MAP API does not provide a Weather Forecast for 5 Days at the Free Plan, but the Location Weather Pro converts it into 5 Days (3-hourly) by calculation.

2. WeatherAPI API Plan:

WeatherAPI follows a highly scalable pricing model. Upgrading from the Free tier mainly extends your forecast (look-ahead) and historical (look-back) data ranges, making higher plans ideal for interfaces that require longer forecasts or deeper weather history.
